Early Identification Program in Medicine

Active Program

The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University hosts an Early Identification Program (EIP) in Medicine that offers Tougaloo pre-med students a route to apply for early admission.   The program provides fee waivers, MCAT waivers, application support and targeted recruiting on Tougaloo’s campus. Launched in 1976, the EIP continues to be a special highlight of the partnership, as one of the longest-standing active programs between the institutions.

Outstanding students committed to a career in medicine are invited to apply for this program. Accepted students spend a semester at Brown before entering the medical school.

The program is rooted in a decades-old, shared history and reflects long-standing common interest between two institutions of higher education, manifested in working academic partnerships and collaborations that span both schools. It also reflects a Rhode Island commitment, and includes cooperative programs that join The Warren Alpert Medical School, Providence College, Rhode Island College and University of Rhode Island with partners at Tougaloo College.
